Zhou Houpei was born in Chongqing in 1947.

Since childhood he has had a great affinity for painting, especially Xieyi and Shuimo (water ink). Staying true to his dream he graduated from the Chengdu academy of fine art in 1970 and is now one of China’s most renowned artists in his field.

A life-long member of the Sichuan arts association, he regularly exhibits his works both in China and internationally. Due to his regular participation in national art events and competitions he has received a number of awards for his unique style of traditional Chinese painting.
